Challenge Races are designed as an inter-company competition for any company with two or more teams entering. Challenge Races are always held in round three and for the Challenge Race competitors, special care is made to ensure the challenge teams do not meet during the earlier rounds - thus giving all challenge competitors the opportunity to get maximum dragon boating experience before their race.

For the companies from whence these teams have come, this is:

  • A unique opportunity to benefit from the team building aspect of dragon boating in a competitive environment – at a fraction of the price you would normally pay for a Corporate Events Team Building day.
  • An opportunity to maximise your company’s profile by possibly getting useful press coverage and photo shots.
  • An opportunity to recognise your teams by getting a company trophy shield made up. Where such shields have been organised, the company’s most senior person present will be invited to present the shield to the company’s winning team in their Challenge race.
