Being told that your child has cancer is many parent's worst nightmare, yet an average of 10 families a day are told that terrible news. Not surprisingly, the diagnosis often comes as a shock. Treatment usually starts straightaway and can last up to three years. As the children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent is there… with clinical, practical and emotional support, every step of the way.

What is CLIC Sargent’s aim?

CLIC Sargent has one simple aim: to ease the burden of childhood cancer on children, young people and their families.

• We are here to help as many children and young people as possible survive cancer and make the most of their lives

• We help the whole family cope with the trauma of cancer, life after treatment and, in some cases, with bereavement

• We make sure that young people with cancer and their families can speak out about their needs and get involved in how we meet them
