The care we give at Bury Hospice touches many more people than simply those who come here as in-patients. We also have day patients as well as offering services to our hospice at home patients. Patients can be referred to us for in-patient care for a number of reasons:
  • To help control symptoms they are experiencing as a result of their disease.
  • For psychological and emotional support.
    • For care in the last days of life.

    If you are referred to us for in-patient care, it is because your GP, district nurse, consultant, clinical nurse specialist or other healthcare professional has discussed your current needs with us and has recommended admission. This will only ever happen with your consent.

    Bury Hospice receives only a small amount of its funding from the NHS. The rest must be raised by ourselves and our supporters. The sponsorship you raise through participating in the Salford Dragon Boat Festival is therefore vital to helping us to continue providing this valuable service to the people in and around Bury.

    Despite a cold, wet and windy day, the Pennine team aka Pennine Pirates braved the elements to raise funds for Bury Hospice. Todate we have raised £1220 from our JustGiving page and Pennine Telecom have committed to match the funds we’ve raised so Bury Hospice will receive £2,440.
